Tinytinyclothing.com is a teeny, tiny little division created by Tiny Bundles in 2007.
When Tiny Bundles sprung into existence in 1995, we were solely an Internet retail-based business. At that time, we sold other people’s preemie clothing and associated preemie products. We also acted as a conduit for other small companies offering their products on our web site for a small fee. We did so for a few years.
We decided that since preemie clothing was such a “niche market” and such a short-lived period of time in an infant’s life, that we would offer clothing in larger sizes. We figured that if our customers really liked the quality and service that Tiny Bundles provided, that they would hopefully return to buy larger-sized baby clothing. Such was not the case. After their babies were able to fit into clothing that they could easily find in the marketplace (by marketplace, I mean at the malls and local stores) that is exactly where they went.
We experienced a few years of success and as time marched forward and more and more competitors appeared in the Internet retail world, our sales started to diminish somewhat.
It was at this point, that I decided to find out more about the retail world and I became a sales rep for one of the preemie manufacturers from whom we originally purchased preemie clothing. I became very well acquainted with what boutique owners and hospital gift shops buyers were looking for as far as quality and price points.
After pursing this avenue for a while, the very important natural, next big step took place, the manufacturing and creation of our own line of baby clothing under the Tiny Bundles’ label.
At this point, it was time for us to find our own sales reps to present and market our line of clothing to the wholesale marketplace. We had switched gears from being buyers of manufacturer’s baby clothing to becoming actual sellers of our own baby clothing. We had gone from “retail sales” to “wholesale sales.” Our website had to now become a wholesale website. It is interesting having had this experience of wearing both sides of the hat or should I say baby cap.
Then in 2007, we decided it would be nice to include the retail marketplace as part of our customer base. And that is how tinytinyclothing.com was born. We have come full circle but with a little twist.
We are back to our grass roots of selling directly to the customer but this time it is not with other manufacturer’s clothing, but with our own. We can’t tell you how ecstatic we are to be working again directly with our customers.
Currently, we offer our very popular applique collection on our tinytinyclothing.com retail website. At this point, we are unable to offer our tie-dye collection because it is not cost-effective to do so. In order to create a dye lot, we need to have at least 12 pieces of clothing per batch. And retail clients don’t purchase that way.
